Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amy Wessel
My name is Amy Wessel and I am a member of Robinson’s Reading and Math Intervention Team.
I received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Maryville University in 1994 and my Master’s Degree in 1998. Along with my Master’s Degree, I completed my Reading Specialist Certification from Maryville in 2011. While these degrees have served me well professionally, my lifelong education comes from the teachers and students at Robinson Elementary.
My teaching career started right here at Robinson, as a student teacher 31 years ago! With the exception of the two years I taught 6th grade for the Memphis City Schools, I have spent all my years teaching 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade at Robinson. In addition to my amazing years as a classroom teacher, I have had the unique opportunity to work with all of the teachers at Robinson as an Instructional Coach for 5 years. Currently, I am a Reading and Math Interventionist and thrilled to work with our Roadrunners in this capacity.
When I am not working with students and staff at Robinson, I am busy spending time with my Danny, 3 children and 2 dogs.
Our eldest son, Noah, is a Junior at DeSmet High School. He is our swimmer, water poloist and musician. Our daughter, Makailyn, is also a Junior in High School this year at Triad High School. She has been competing in Dance Competition since she was 6 years old. She also enjoys Art and Math. Our youngest, Charley Sue, is entering 5th grade this year. She is our biggest risk-taker and spends a lot of her time playing soccer for Carshield FC, lacrosse, basketball and reading.
If I am not running them around to and from their extracurriculars, I am walking with our dogs Willow and Gunner, gardening, spending time at the lake, kayaking, playing games and spending time with family and friends.
I look forward to a memorable 2023-2024 school year and couldn’t pick a better school community to spend it with!
