Mrs. Chenoa Pysar

Hello, my name is Chenoa Pysar and I am new to both Robinson Elementary School and to the St Louis Area… at least by St. Louis standards.

My family and I moved to Kirkwood August 2020 from Songdo, South Korea. Before that we called North Carolina home. I have two children, Jocelyn, who is currently attending SLU and Tristan, who  is attending Kirkwood High School. My husband, Travis, and I have been married over 21 years. He currently works for a biotech company in China.

For 16 years I was a stay-at-home mom whose volunteer opportunities allowed me to work with elementary age children and to serve on the boards of parent-teacher organizations in North Carolina and South Korea. I also freelanced as a personal trainer for clients of all ages in both one on one and in small group settings.

Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I served in the United State Marine Corps as an enlisted Marine and then as an officer of Marines. I was honorably discharged from active duty as a First Lieutenant in 2005 and then from the Inactive Reserves at the rank of Captain in April of 2012. Being a Marine, I learned to adapt and overcome in any situation, so this has prepared me well for being an additional teacher at Robinson, where no day is the same and always full of adventure.

I graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Second Major in Exercise and Sport Science.  I’m currently attending graduate school at UMSL as part of their Teach in 12 /Masters of Education program. I’ve loved my time in the classroom so much, I’m ready to move on to a second career as a teacher and hope to be certified to teach by the end of December 2024.

When I’m not working at Robinson, I’m quite busy taking care of my family and home. I also enjoy staying physically active. My favorite form of exercise is running. Especially trail running.

I consider each day that I get to be with the students and staff at Robinson a true blessing.
