Students will also be introduced to the history of photography and its processes. Further, the students will be exposed to and experiment with alternative photographic processes. This course is intended to feed students into Graphic Design and AP 2D Studio.
-
Graphic Design I
Students will learn the basic concepts of 2D design and illustration. Drawing, painting, and digital techniques will be explored. Students will make use of scanners, digital photography, and various programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
-
Sculpture I
In the Sculpture I course, students will design and make large and small three-dimensional works in a variety of materials including cardboard, paper, wood, wire, plaster, fibers, stone and found objects. Students will demonstrate basic skills in design and construction.
-
Ceramics II
Students taking this course will develop skills and techniques of wheel-thrown pottery. They will also further skills in hand-built pottery, glazing, and decorating that were fostered in Ceramics I.
-
Drawing II

Students will develop an intensive approach to the interpretation of subject matter. Students will learn skills and techniques with the following media: pencil, color pencil, pastel, pen and ink, charcoal and mixed media.
-
Graphic Design II
Students will study two-dimensional design in greater depth, building on skills learned in Graphic Design I, through intensive use of graphic programs on computers for various 2D tasks.
-
Painting
Students will learn techniques and methods of working with tempera, watercolor and acrylic paint. They will learn color theory and make charts to work on color mixing skills. Applying the elements and principles of design they will create works that are from observed study and their own development.
