    Katie Meyers, Kirkwood High School Language Arts teacher, was selected as the Kirkwood School District Teacher of the Year for 2022-23. Katie was selected through an interview process conducted by the Teacher of the Year selection committee.

    Over the past week, Kirkwood schools celebrated the announcement of their Teacher of the Year for the 2022-23 school year. Congratulations to these outstanding Kirkwood teachers who were selected by their school colleagues to represent the many outstanding Kirkwood teachers and staff members. The 2022-23 Teachers of the Year are: Susan Tiffany (KECC), Katie Lorenz (Keysor), Julie Pritchard (North Glendale), Laura Grayson (Robinson), Elizabeth Curtis (Tillman), Adrienne Fox-Ray (Westchester), Scott Warren (Nipher), Kristin Siebert (North Kirkwood), and Katie Meyers (Kirkwood High School).

    A candidate forum for candidates running for the Kirkwood School Board will be conducted by the League of Women Voters Metro St. Louis and all candidates have been invited. The League of Women Voters is providing an opportunity to submit questions in advance of the forum.

    The Kirkwood School District is proud to offer our families the opportunity to access PCR testing at no cost. We are partnering with Quantum Laboratory to provide PCR testing options. Beginning on Monday, February 7, KSD families may access testing at the Turner Building located at 1099 Milwaukee St. from 6:30-10 a.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. each day, Monday - Friday. Testing is offered in the Training Room located on the basement level.

    Late this week, the Kirkwood School District was notified of a concerning phone call received by the Kirkwood Police Department related to potentially illegal activity at an upcoming Board of Education meeting. We prioritize the safety of our staff, patrons and board members and want to ensure there is adequate time to implement appropriate safety protocols.

We want to let you know that the mask requirement in the Kirkwood School District remains in place and is not affected by the county’s action.
