Proposition R - Right for Kids, Right for the Community A Zero-Tax Rate Change Proposal Would Address Overcrowding, Safety and Security Challenges, and More Faced with overcrowded classrooms and a lack of adequate instructional space in its schools, the Kirkwood School District Board of Education unanimously voted on Monday, Jan. 25, to place a zero-tax rate change bond proposal on the April 6, 2021 ballot.

KSD eSpotlight January 9, 2021
The Kirkwood School District is using a mastery-based report this year to provide families with feedback about K-5 student learning. This replaces the 1-2-3-4 rubric used in recent years for report cards. As mentioned in October, we will use this process for the entire school year, regardless of the instructional model in place.

The winter break is December 23-January 5. School will resume on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. We ask all staff and families to limit their exposure to those outside of their households and to take precautions if you do travel or visit with extended family and friends.

Snow Days will remain the same for the 2020-2021 school year. Specifically, suppose KSD cancels in-person learning due to inclement weather. In that case, we will follow the current school calendar, and the cancellation will be a traditional snow day for in-person and at-home or virtual students.
