About Student Services

  • The Kirkwood School District is committed to working with parents to meet the educational needs of all of our students. A variety of special services are available in our schools to assist students whose educational needs require supports beyond what is typically provided within the general classroom.

Your child’s classroom teacher is the first person you should contact for guidance on how we can best work together to support your child’s educational needs. Other key building staff include your child’s counselor, school nurse, principal and assistant principal.

If your child is already participating in a special program, or if you believe your child may be in need of special services, you should contact your child’s classroom teacher, counselor or principal for assistance.

The Kirkwood Student Services Department works with a wide variety of student related programs. They include residency (temporary, living with others, etc.), records, counseling, social work, and student health and wellness. This includes supporting the Wellness Committee. Please visit the Wellness Committee website for more information about this committee.

The goal of the department is to do whatever it takes to ensure all students realize their potential. We strive to make the Kirkwood School District a great place for students.
