Algebra JumpStart - Online & In Person

    • Algebra JumpStart will be open to rising eighth graders who would benefit from additional pre-algebra skills before taking algebra in the fall.
    • Students will mostly work independently over the course of four weeks (July 11-August 4), using a custom-built ALEKS course that integrates aspects of Algebra Readiness and Essentials for Algebra courses.  Student learning will be monitored weekly by the KSD JumpStart teacher.
      • Algebra Readiness provides robust coverage of the basic concepts of algebra, algebra prerequisites, and related math curriculum standards.
      • Essentials for Algebra provides necessary prerequisite topics that are central for success in Algebra, including standards-based geometry, probability, and statistics concepts.
    • Students will meet in person with a teacher on four Wednesday mornings (July 13, July 20, July 27, & August 3).  These meetings will be held at Nipher Middle School, from 8:30-12:00.
