After feedback is gathered, the strategic plan committee will evaluate the data and delineate common topics over several weeks of focus group meetings. The new strategic plan will be presented to the KSD Board of Education in summer 2021.

    The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has determined that Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) Grade Level Assessments are to be administered to students this spring in Grades 3-8, and that all testing must take place on our campuses. The testing window for students in the Kirkwood School District is April 8-May 15.

    Tomorrow -Tuesday, April 6 - is Election Day. April is the traditional school election date and is hosted by your local schools. On the ballot for our District is Prop R and our school board election. Ample parking will be available for parent and community voters at our school polling places - Keysor, Robinson, Tillman, KECC/Hough and NKMS/ASC.

    Proposition R - Right for Kids, Right for the Community A Zero-Tax Rate Change Proposal Would Address Overcrowding, Safety and Security Challenges, and More Faced with overcrowded classrooms and a lack of adequate instructional space in its schools, the Kirkwood School District Board of Education unanimously voted on Monday, Jan. 25, to place a zero-tax rate change bond proposal on the April 6, 2021 ballot.

    The Kirkwood School District is using a mastery-based report this year to provide families with feedback about K-5 student learning. This replaces the 1-2-3-4 rubric used in recent years for report cards. As mentioned in October, we will use this process for the entire school year, regardless of the instructional model in place.

    The winter break is December 23-January 5. School will resume on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. We ask all staff and families to limit their exposure to those outside of their households and to take precautions if you do travel or visit with extended family and friends.

    Snow Days will remain the same for the 2020-2021 school year. Specifically, suppose KSD cancels in-person learning due to inclement weather. In that case, we will follow the current school calendar, and the cancellation will be a traditional snow day for in-person and at-home or virtual students.
