Kirkwood School District Board of Education Approves Hire of New Assistant Principal at Westchester Elementary 

At the regularly scheduled meeting, the Kirkwood School District Board of Education approved the recommendation for the hire of Dr. Adrienne Fox-Ray as assistant principal at Westchester Elementary School effective July 1, 2024. 

 

Dr. Fox-Ray has been in education for 18 years, and she has worked with the students, staff, and families at Westchester for the last 10 years.  Before coming to Kirkwood, she taught fourth grade in the Riverview Gardens School District, and at Westchester, she taught first and fourth grades. In 2022, Dr. Fox-Ray was named Westchester’s Teacher of the Year. Currently, Dr. Fox-Ray is an Instructional Specialist at Westchester. Her leadership experience also includes her time over the last three summers at Horizons St. Louis, where she coordinated and administered assessments, organized staff training, managed program activities, and supervised staff members.  

 

“Dr. Fox-Ray has demonstrated a commitment to building relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and she is passionate about instructional leadership,” said Julie Harris, incoming principal at Westchester.  “I am excited to share that Dr. Fox-Ray will continue her work at Westchester as our next Assistant Principal.”

 

Dr. Fox-Ray holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Masters degrees in Educational Administration, Educational Technology, and Reading, and in 2022, she earned her Doctorate in Teacher Leadership.
