Kirkwood School District Board of Education Approves Hire of New Assistant Principals at Nipher Middle School

At their meeting on Monday, April 15, Kirkwood School District Board of Education approved the recommendation for the hire of Dr. Beth Ruta and Savannah Christian as assistant principals of Nipher Middle School, effective July 1, 2024. 

 

Savannah Christian has been an educator for seven years and has been at Nipher Middle School for two years. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of leadership roles. Most recently, she has been a member of the Kirkwood Leadership Preparation Program (KLPP), served as a substitute administrator and was involved in strategic planning work at Nipher Middle School.

 

Dr. Beth Ruta has been an educator for 13 years and has been at Nipher Middle School for two years. She is currently serving as the interim assistant principal for 7th grade and is part of the Kirkwood Leadership Preparation Program (KLPP). Prior to working in Kirkwood, Dr. Ruta was a teacher and Assistant Principal at Rockwood Valley Middle School. 

 

We are excited for Dr. Ruta and Mrs. Christian to continue serving at Nipher Middle School in their new roles as Assistant Principals,” said Dr. Laura Havener, principal at Nipher Middle School. “They consistently make decisions through a student-centered and collaborative approach, and I am confident that they will have a positive impact on our school community for years to come.”

 

Christian received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Master of Arts in Education from Truman State University. She also received a certification as an Education Specialist in Educational Leadership K-12 from Northwest Missouri State University.

 

Dr. Beth Ruta received a Bachelor of Elementary and Middle School Education from University of Illinois.  She received her Masters in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University.
