At the Technology Education Association of Missouri (TEAM) annual state contest and awards program, Nipher Middle School students finished with high marks in several categories.
Gideon Weinberg, Andrew Troy, Nate Raeber, and Jason Heisner competed in the Mechanical Drafting Division with their Engineering Design Problem Projects. Nate, Jason, and Andrew won Grand Award medals for finishing at the top of their division. Gideon received a perfect score on his project.
Emerey Gross won a Grand Award for being the top in her division for a billiards rack she designed and made in her Woods II Class.
Carly Smith and Avery Campbell received a “1” rating for the oak bench they designed and built in their Woods II Class.
The Missouri TEAM Contest was held on May 10 at the Margaritaville Resort at Lake of the Ozarks and over 350 student projects from across the state entered the contest.
The project-oriented competition is for technology education students in grades 6-12 and is designed to promote and improve scholarship, craftsmanship, and technology in industrial technology education and pre-engineering. The Nipher technology education classes are taught by David Jackson.
